ABOUT

"I found photography in the desire to hold on to the parts of life I never wanted to let go of."

Why did I become a photographer?

Hi! My name is Katherine, though many know me as Kath. I'm a lover of sunsets, film, big laughs, lime, Mexican food, and traveling. More than anything, I love spending time with my family. Growing up, my childhood was filled with family gatherings, carne asadas, and celebrations that seemed to never end. Looking back, I think that's where my love for bringing people together and documenting life's most meaningful moments first began.

Since I was a child, I've been fascinated by the idea that I could share an experience with someone who wasn't there to witness it themselves. As I grew older, I began noticing the little moments around me: someone laughing wholeheartedly, dancing without a care, or sharing an affectionate glance with someone they love. In those moments, I realized how privileged we are to witness one another, to be present for the things of life that make us human.

Eventually, those two things came together. I realized I could capture the love I was fortunate enough to witness and share it with those who couldn't be there, preserving a little piece of a moment that would otherwise exist only in memory. That's what photography became for me: a way to hold on to life's beautiful moments and allow others to experience them, too.

THE GIRL BEHIND THE CAMERA.

about me

I see content creation as a modern take on the classic home movie

Hi, I’m Kim! I’m the wedding content creator here at Lemon Tree Photo Co. I grew up alongside my sister Kath, who has always had a passion for photography, and I was always by her side recording on my phone or camera. From a young age, I started vlogging our family trips and have always enjoyed the creative freedom that comes with documenting life as it happens.
I also love coffee, which I started drinking wayyy too young and I have my Mexican grandmother to thank for that. In my free time, I enjoy making new coffee and matcha recipes and watching rom-coms with my sisters.

As I mentioned, I’ve always been alongside my sister. When she opened Lemon Tree Photo Co. back in 2020, I joined her team as a second shooter and assistant, where I was also in charge of capturing behind-the-scenes moments of her work. So naturally, when wedding content creation became something brides were interested in having, it was clear that it should be the next step for us.
What I love about content creation is that it allows you to relive your wedding day as it happened, without it feeling overly edited. My goal is for couples to be able to look back and relive their wedding day for years to come, almost like a classic home video they can always return to.

"....content allows my husband and I to relive so many moments we would have otherwise missed."

On the wedding day, Kimmy worked seamlessly alongside our photographer and followed their lead effortlessly. She captured an insane amount of content, I'm talking well over a thousand files between both photo and video!
The wedding day truly goes by so fast, and having all of this content allows my husband and I to relive so many moments we would have otherwise missed.

"All the photos turned out beautiful and I will enjoy them for a lifetime!"

Kath was amazing to work with for our wedding from start to finish! Always available to communicate, we had a wonderful engagement session which made me feel so confident going into the wedding day trusting artistic abilities! Her and her sister were so kind, and everyone felt very comfortable with them. All the photos turned out beautiful and I will enjoy them for a lifetime! Thank you Kath!
